Do we really need 13 reasons why the lovely glass of mommy juice is the secret to getting us through this thing called motherhood? Do we really even need 2 reasons? All I need is one reason, and that reason is: because I said so.

With mother’s day coming up and moms everywhere getting a little recognition for a few things that someone noticed we do on the daily, I thought it might be fun to actually talk about the nitty gritty of why we survive everyday and the real reason we drink wine. All moms love wine (or a drink of choice…or Oreos…or some sort of guilty pleasure) right? When it’s appropriate to stop drinking coffee and switch to wine; I’m there.
I wouldn’t go as far to say that I NEED a glass of wine, but let’s just reminisce of all the reasons why we moms of all ages needed a glass of wine lately. Disclaimer: If you are not a mom yet, you might consider a higher dosage of birth control after reading this. Just warning ya! 😉
I polled some moms about the real reason they’re drinking wine on those hard days and here’s what some of them said…
13 Reasons Wine is the Secret to Surviving Motherhood
I need wine because…
- I might lose.my.mind. if I wipe another hiney that’s not my own today.
- I walked around with my ketchup-stained yoga pants inside out all day long and just noticed at 8pm bedtime.
- The dog peed on the floor and then the baby slipped in it. – Bethanie, 3 kids 3 & under
- It was another child’s poop at Chick-Fil-A play area that I actually fished out of my daughter’s mouth.
- Potty training. And really, I’m just “cheers-ing” to them because they win. Every day. They win. – Emily, mom of 9 month old and 2.5 year old
- I’m Mom. Wife. Referee. Chef. Maid. Chauffeur. Maid. Back-Tickler. Maid.
- Because..3 year old twin girls going on 13.. I even cussed a little today I think.. Oh and their Daddy is in the hospital 300 miles away..I threw away the cork!! -Erin, mom of twin threenagers
- My daughter painted eyebrows on all of her American Girl dolls with Sharpie.
- The laundry has been “re-fluffed” 8 times and I just can’t fold it without wine.
- My kids are fighting over a ponytail holder the size of a dime. Literally fighting.
- I can’t adult today.
- Do I really need a reason to drink a glass of wine? – Haleigh, mom 6 month old baby boy
- Because I said so, that’s why! Mikala, mom to a 9 year old teenager and a 7 month old spitter
I’m really not even that big of a drinker. I do love wine, though. JaM Cellar’s Butter Chardonnay has become my go-to for the last few months. I got hooked after my mother-in-law introduced it to me and have loved it since! I grabbed my mom and sister a few weeks ago to actually get some adult “girl time” which consisted of Butter and cupcakes. What is better, really? I think all of these moms are onto something…wine really does make motherhood fun.
If you’re looking for a new wine to try and you like whites, JaM Cellar’s Butter Chardonnay should definitely be on your list to try! It’s crisp and not too sweet, which is perfect for summer! Giving the gift of Butter for Mother’s Day would be the best one ever. It’s under $20 but tastes like the most fine wine you’d never know!
Want to buy Butter Chardonnay? Find a store near you with the JaMCellars Store Locator. For more ways to butter mom up, check out this super fun Mother’s Day article, “Butter Mom Up This Mother’s Day” from the JaM Cellars blog, The Scoop.
So…why are you drinking your wine? I would love to hear a funny story about motherhood or just why you love Butter! And…CHEERS to you mama!!
