Perfect Proposal

To me, planning a wedding is pure bliss. Getting to tell & retell the engagement story, showing off that gorgeous ring you’ve dreamt of your whole life, the millions of magazines, wedding dress shopping, bridesmaid dress shopping, Dallas trips, bachelorette trips to Vegas, bridal showers, registering, lingerie showers, LOTS of girl time, decisions, getting to look forward to spending forever with your man, the list goes on….I enjoyed every single second & absolutely LOVED planning our wedding. Not to mention, I had the best parents, groom and bridesmaids to make the planning go smoothly. My friends & bridesmaids were seriously the best ever. They planned THE BEST bachelorette party trip to Vegas, lingerie showers, bridal showers, bridal brunches, listened to ALL the details…etc. I could never thank them all enough for what they did for me then and always. But, I knew that when the time came (for the two single ladies of my six bridesmaids), I wanted to be a big part of helping them plan their Big Day (and parties!) just like they did mine.  Michelle was one of these bridesmaids, and of course-it was fate, she caught my bouquet! (just about then…we started the planning since Michelle and her boyfriend, Brittan, have been dating for FOR-EV-ER!)

Well, just about 7 months after she caught that lucky bouquet, Brittan popped the big question & her dreams became reality!

Michelle and I had been scheming and trying to figure out when she was going to get that blingy hardware for her left hand ring finger! We spent most of our time texting, getting manicures in hopes it would be the “lucky color” for her and just pretty much planning the whole thing! Michelle and Brittan had planned a weekend to come visit us & we just KNEW she would have the bling by then. When that weekend came…no bling. We decided we would still plan. (Secretly, of course, since she wasn’t actually engaged! Come on, ladies, you all do it! ….I mean, I never had a wedding magazine before age 12…or a wedding inspiration binder…or the dress in my mind & dreams…or the plans of my wedding since I was 10 when I told my dad to start saving money…okay, maybe I was Ultimate Bridezilla at age 10. But come on, it’s a fairytale day that takes LOTS of planning!)  😉 Maybe, just maybe, I may have rubbed off my wedding bliss on my sweet friend, Michelle. HA! Let’s just say we got a jumpstart on planning!

So…..Michelle and Brittan arrive in Seminole and we have a relaxing Friday night. Saturday morning, Michelle and I veg-out around the house (no, we weren’t planning her hypothetical wedding…) while Brett took Brittan around to see the farm & gin, etc. Saturday afternoon, Michelle and I fittingly have another mani/pedi & then come home to the guys saying they want to take us out to Lubbock. We quickly threw a bag together & Brett flew us to Lubbock for the night.

I know…we’re NOT at all spoiled, right?!

We got to the LBK and checked into our hotel, The Overton, which we loved and had a tapas & wine on their private VIP floor before our night out!

Time for dinner:
We sprinted from the hotel  to the car since it was literally 30 degrees, blowing 30 mph & sleeting (West Texas weather = SO unpredictable) Michelle was halfway in the car, Brittan had to pry her out…to……YOU GUESSED IT! Brittan popped the BIG-AWAITED-4-word-question: “Will you marry me?!” Followed by an, “OH MY GOSH!” “ARE YOU JOKING ME?!” “IS THIS REALLY HAPPENING?!” YES, I’LL MARRY YOU!!!!!!” “OH MY GOSH, IT’S ON MY FINGER!!!”…….bliss!

 Brett and I were the photographer/videographers! We are so very honored to be a part of their proposal day! Michelle was so sweet and caught off guard, and Brittan was so relieved to have that gorgeous & coveted ring out of his pocket and onto her hand! They are ENGAGED and on Cloud Nine!

 We headed over to The Double Nickel for din din (very fitting, since this is where Brett took me right after he proposed!) and had a delish steak & celebratory champagne!

 && then out for more celebratory drinks @ The Funky Door! (If you haven’t been here for your girls night….it’s a MUST….I mean, there is a wine buffet, GO!)
